The farm was originally known as Ou Bees and lies on
the most Southern part of Mesklip. The registered owner of the farm
is Namaqua Game Lodge (Pty) Ltd and the shareholders of the Company
currently: Witsand Trust (70%) and Lynette Olivier (nee Fourie)
30%.
This mountainous game farm consist of 4 308 (four
three nil eight) hectares grazing land which is exclusively used for
the grazing by game and also
consist of various mountains, rivers and other
historical features. The dwelling consist of a thatched home +
550m² with nine (11) luxury en-suite bedrooms; one self
catering unit,
dining facilities; kitchen, store room, office,
built-in braai; bar facilities; swimming pool to cool
off in on very hot days. In summer the temperature can easily rise
to 40 degrees Celsius.
A steel structured shed of approximately 350m² was
erected adjacent to the main homestead for the storage of normal
farming equipment, vehicles, etc.
The N7 National Road to Springbok and the Brand River
forms the western boundary of the farm and the Buffels River forms
the southern boundary of the farm. The farm is completely fenced off
for wild game purposes and has a Certificate No. 003/2003 of
Adequate Enclosure in terms of the Nature and Environmental
Conservation Ordinance, 1974 (Ordinance 19 of 1974). The game
enclosure consist of about 36km of 2,5m fencing.
Game consist of the following: Livingstone Eland,
Gemsbok, Springbok, Blesbok, Kudu, Ostrich, Klipspringer, Steenbok
and Duiker. Horses, donkeys and Zebra. Wild bird species are also
numerous to be seen, especially different breeds of Eagle. On night
drives you will see “night life” as well as predators like jackal,
leopard, links and other animals including porcupine, bat eared
foxes, aardvark, dassies, rabbits, etc. The chacma Baboon is also
so bee seen as well as snakes, scorpions and spiders.

Vodacom (Pty) Limited entered into a Lease Agreement
with Namaqua Game Lodge for the installation and maintenance of a
Vodacom Tower for a period of nine (9) years and eleven (11) months
from 01 November 2004 till 30 September 2014. Other features include

A Mineral Lease (K388/2002) (Land Removal) is
registered in favour of A J Roux Familie Trust for a period of 99
years from 01 June 2001.
